“A good half of the art of living is resilience.” ~Alain de Botton
I believe that people are inherently creative, resourceful, and whole, and I am driven to facilitate powerful conversations in order to enrich the lives of my clients. I value vulnerability, play, humor, inquiry, engagement, and authenticity and am interested in the stories we tell that invariably shape and define our lives - tales constructed from our origins, from the present moment, from the possibilities represented by a sky’s horizon. Getting curious helps neutralize the power of the stories that are harmful and outdated and makes way for new ones that better suit, ones that fulfill and dazzle, ones that bring us home to ourselves.
After spending a few years in corporate training and human resources, I taught English for twelve years at a public high school just north of Austin. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Co-Active coach with advanced degrees in poetry and social work. Not only do I incorporate my academic and professional experience into my sessions with clients, I am also dedicated to continually learning and sharing my discoveries.
I derive joy from working with people from all walks of life, especially families, couples, and adolescents, and have a special affinity for those experiencing the effects of various life transitions. My clinical focus is on narrative, mindfulness, attachment, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic therapies. I specialize in trauma, grief, shame, loss, and anxiety and partner with clients who are interested in healing, reconnection, growth, and a greater sense of well-being. I look forward to collaborating with you.
